Commuting out of Aspen?

Commuting out of Aspen?
Any Skywest guys familiar with how full the flights out of Aspen (to DIA or SLC) are on an average basis? My folks have a place for us to stay rent free (No they aren't rich - just managing a few properties) which would help bunches when I get on first year pay and the wife heads back to school. Grew up near there and would love to be back at least temporarily, just not sure if the commute is going to be worth the hassle.

You wouldn't be the only one that does it. Just expect to ride the jumpseat often during the peak months.
Skywest, Mesa, and Lynx (Frontier) fly in there a whole bunch, so frequency wouldn't be a problem. Its weight restrictions and full flights that will.
Also planning on flying on the first and last flights of the day helps during the summer as the temps are lower and the aircraft tend to not be as weight restricted.

My mother is a FA for United and has been commuting out of ASE for over 25 years and she has had problems for the past few years, usually ending up having to fly out of EGE or just driving. You have the advantage of jumpseating on other carriers, where she had to have an extra seat on Express. The only other thing I would be worried about is weight restrictions. Just make sure you have a couple of backups and if it looks iffy at all plan on driving. If you end up doing it, enjoy, I miss being up there.

Taking the last flight also means you will be competing with ALL the bumped revenue passengers, as well as non-rev/JS'ers that snowballed off the earlier flights.

Should not be a problem. There are 2 SKW guys who go to DEN from there and the odd offline JS. The ticket counter is pretty good at getting you in the system and letting us know you are planning on JS. Keep an eye on the WX...if there is going to be snow or above 80F look for weight restrictions and the tail winds don't help. Lynx can take an 18 kt. tail wind...we are restricted to 10...and this is a huge weight hit.
Our primary divert is GJT or DEN...so keep that in mind.
There are a few flight from LAX, SFO, and ORD during peak seasons...so keep those in mind. Good Luck!
