You beat me to it. I was just getting ready to copy the link. Does anyone know WHY they were trying to climb up on the plane?
|
this was my favorite part:
The TSA agent, as part of spot inspection of aircraft security, climbed onto the parked aircraft using control sensors mounted on the fuselage as handholds, according to a TSA official in Chicago, Elio Montenegro. "Our inspector was following routine procedure for securing the aircraft that were on the tarmac," Montenegro told ABCNews.com. The TSA agent was attempting to determine if someone could break into a parked aircraft, according to Montenegro. Just have to love the TSA, what's next for agents trying to find ways to sneak into aircraft...maybe one will try to enter via the lav |
It's too bad the pitot heat wasn't on. Routine procedure? Is he serious? Idiots!

So on another note, if i'd have to guess why these guys broke pitot tubes. I'm guessing they couldn't access the aircraft through jetbridge so they decided to try from the ramp using the pitot tubes as something to try to climb up on the plane. The public needs to know that not only is the TSA not keeping them safe, they are now actually degrading the safety of the aircraft they are charged with keeping secure. |
These morons broke 9 airplanes. After braking one they continue on showing off their GED education status by braking 8 more the same way. These people are officially doing more harm than good. I hope a plane load of people don't have to pay the price for their lack of knowledge.

How about the word BREAK. If you are going to insult someone for their education, it would be helpful to check your remarks for proper spelling. I agree this is a moronic idea, but with that statement, you are trying to light a fire with wet matches son. LOL |
That's very true. The loss of a TAT probe is pretty much a non-event. The TSA though, in their never-ending quest to find new ways to make life hard on pilots and everyone else not wearing the prestigious TSA badge, will eventually cause serious damage to an aircraft. I too hope that it does not result in injury (or worse) of any pilot or passenger.

I can't believe the TSA agent was physically fit enough to climb anything.
