Unbelievable. Completely pathetic. That same competence could very well be the new government run healthcare model.

Am I the only one whose really excited about clearing security tomorrow?

TSA: You're in the wrong line. Employees have to go to Lane 5.
ME: I'm just trying to get to my airplane early to make sure you guys didn't use my Pitot Tube as a jungle gym.

You know, I have always wondered how much is enough. Now I know, I should ALWAYS stop at 9. 9 beers, and now I know 9 TAT probes are enough.

I saw someone said they targeted AE planes because they felt they weren't being secured properly at night. Why did they feel this way and what makes them think that AE would be the only ones not securing well. When I first heard this I was completely speechless!!

...can prevent takeoffs with bent AOA probes.

Seriously... At least we aren't reading an NTSB report of stick shaker/pusher activation on rotation... thank goodness it was only TAT probes... but still. Kudos to the crews on thorough preflights catching the TSA damage.

I hope this agent is held responsible for the damage. If I leave a jetbridge door open I get a fine, so does that mean if they break our planes they have to pay for repairs? I wonder what the total cost of this is going to be....9 TAT probes and flight cancellations and late flights causing misconnects. From what I can tell from the ORD delay report alot of flights were delayed that didn't have broken probes because they were being inspected to be sure.

PS
Sorry if I used bad grammer/spelling.....been up over 36hrs. Oh, if I don't get my bonus check this month because of this somebody owes me $75.

Not only responible for the damage. This is a serious federal offense. Tampering with company property and attempted murder. "Routine inspections my A#@". This agent should be held to the full extend of the federal law.. What a F'n idiot!

From the article on abc.com:

Pilots were furious at the TSA misstep.

"The brilliant employees used an instrument located just below the cockpit window that is critical to the operation of the onboard computers," one pilot wrote on an American Eagle internet forum. "They decided this instrument, the TAT probe, would be adequate to use as a ladder," the pilot wrote.

Another pilot wrote the TSA agents, "are now doing things to our aircraft that may put our lives, and the lives of our passengers at risk."

I was kind of surprised to see what was being said on another forum was quoted in the article. I guess now more than ever is a good time to keep the discussion as professional and informative, while still having a good time poking fun at TSA;), keeping in mind just who is reading these forums. As long as the media is going to be quoting some of the posts on forums like this, we might as well provide them with some quality posts to help improve the media's current reputation for their coverage of any news related to the airlines:cool:

I think that whoever promises to get rid of the TSA will get the vote of every pilot here at APC, down with the GED morons!
