Two seperate and independant sources actually... none that can be named publicly though without destroying any hope of future information. Both have been very reliable in the past.

is that a good wow, or a bad wow? I am fairly certain that if you had good reliable sources you would not out them either... especially on a public BBS.

That would be nice...for flying to increase and things to return to a more normal condition.

staying in Boston would be nice if i had any bit of seniority...hopefully there is some silver lining amongst the haze...

WARN notices went out today for Nov 02 close date for BOS

Something's up....

I got my Warn letter today. Off to ORD for me, argh.:( Not looking forward to the commute. Though FWIW I had heard from union offical that they do not think it will close. So we'll see.

Is the WARN notice just to let you know that they are closing a base or does it warn of a possible furlough?

Well, the way it reads it sounds like I'm being terminated. However, there are office people that are getting the axe not any pilots, yet anyway. So yes it does tell of terminations and furloughs as well as base closures.

The contract requires them to provide 60 days notice of a base closure, and the Fed law makes em send WARN notices... doesn't mean they are going to do anything... it just keeps their options open as they can't do anything without the notices. Still status quo.

They are still trying to figure in the 1,000 additional hours in the northeast, and the fact that they HAVE to use or lose the slots at LGA.. so, nothing is a done deal, but they had to send the notices to keep the option available. Once they re-evaluate everything again, don't be surprised to see BOS stay open (but much smaller)...

Sometime this month we'll probably get another notice saying the closure has been pushed back another month.... just like they did last month.
