Mesaba Uniform Question

I've noticed a few of the Mesaba guys are wearing their epaulets upside down? I even mentioned it to one of the FO's. His repose was "I know. Thanks". He didn't change it, so I must be out of the loop or something..

Anyone know what the significance is?

I don't fly for Mesaba, but I heard the CRJ900 pilots, or "9 drivers" like they call themselves wear them like that.

That is the single most retarded thing I have ever heard...maybe if they were in a labor dispute, but that's unbelievable.

I heard from a NWA captain that Mesaba is getting more Saabs...Possibly the AE Saabs??

Sorry gotta call some BS on this one. I have yet to see one of our 900 pilots doing anything of the sort. And if you do see one....follow him into a dark alley and....well you know ;)

I call BS as well. As soon as this rumor hit these forums a few of our captains went on a mission to get to the bottom of it. It turned out it was ONE incident of ONE new MSP -900 FO who didn't realize they were upside down for a day. When he was told, he was embarrassed. The whole issue has since been a lesson in how gossip can spread within a company and how quickly the crewroom talk makes it onto the internet.

Even during recurrent this rumor was brought up many times a day... the captain who was on the case from the start was getting pretty frustrated trying to set everyone straight. At this point the truth isn't even important anymore.
