RAH pilots need to have something like "All OT will remain in OT available status for the purpose of swap/drops/trades/pick-up requests made by line holding pilots until 24 hrs prior to the start of the trip" and "No OT shall be awarded to a reserve pilot until 24 hrs prior to the start of the trip" put into the next contract (among many many other things)

we could make a laundry list of improvements that need to be worked into the next contract. i think the people working for us sitting at the negotiating table know what we expect, and they feel the same way. we are only a year into negotiations. let's see where we are at by year 5 and then we can get a feel for how that contract might turn out.

if you ask me, we should write the contract we want and just submit it to company with the words "Non-Negotiable" stamped on every page.

...or after a year of negotiations we could continue to let the company jerk us around longer and longer until nobody gives a damn anymore and conssesions are made just to get it done and outta the way.

CA as FO reserves? GASP! Please tell me you're joking? Do they revert to FO pay when they fly as FOs?

Flica is (was) the greatest thing we ever had at Midwest. One could almost always rearrange one's schedule by swapping and dropping and the company pays for the service per the contract. It really cut down on the sick calls.

...but you have to have the reserves available to do it....
if RAH did it the CORRECT way Flica would be great. The problem is not the program, its the user that runs it and the pilots pay for CS's stupidity.

yea, that's what i really meant. i don't think flica is the culprit. if RAH actually had normal staffing/reserve levels, i think flica could be a great tool. i have had some success with trading trips, but almost none with dropping trips.

Not true on the RW side, although I suspect CHQ is the same. FLICA does not mark anything in CrewTrac if you try to drop a trip. Any * you get would be put there by a human crew scheduler.
