I just had a PC about a week ago. It wasn't bad, although I did study quite a bit for it mostly because I'd rather be over prepared than under prepared. It's already been mentioned, but know your memory items, limitations, systems, all the usual stuff. Think of it this way, when you do a LOFT you are usually in for a surprise of some kind, but a PC is very straight forward, V1 cut, single engine ILS, etc. Just study a little bit and stay relaxed.

A PC is a recreation of your original type ride. If you passed it once, you can pass it again, just study! Personally, I'd rather have a PC because it's structured, and you know what to expect. Down side is you're in jeopardy.

LOFT is a line flight in the sim. Usually, you fly one leg where everything is "normal" then one leg where all hell breaks loose. They grade you on how you deal with it.

LOFT tends to be more for captains because a lot of it involves judgment and cockpit management. As the FO, just be sure you know your memory items and do what you are told. Chiming in if the skipper tries to do something dumb is a bonus.

In a LOFT you really aren't in jeopardy unless you don't know how to fly, do something incredibly dumb, can't run a checklist, or don't know your memory items. Everything else is a debrief. They tend to be much lower key than a PC which is an actual checkride.

I did not find what John said that out of line. We can not kid ourselves into thinking we are something that we are not. We "assist" the PIC in the duties of the flight.

They call for the QRH, we read it to them and do what they say. I understand where you are coming from but all of us right seaters really know where we stand.

Ummm, ok...

First, have you flown with me? Even met me in person? Then don't judge.

If you had done any of those things, you'd know that in the cockpit I'm one of the most laid back captains here. Ask around the ATR FOs.

I meant no malice. I said that because if he takes my advice it makes his checkride easy and stress free, It's called DOING THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR JOB. Kind of like not volunteering extra information on an oral and digging yourself a hole. Do I expect that on a daily basis? Of course not, don't be a moron.

Now, those were some pretty harsh and uncalled for personal attacks. Do you feel better now? If you'd like to man up and tell me that to my face, you know where to find me. I suspect you won't. It's real easy to take shots at someone hiding behind a screen name, isn't it?

I found that on the LOFT, since all hell broke loose during my leg, it was the CA grabbing the QRH and we worked together on things. Maybe it was cuz I was flying with a good captain but he ran the situation by me and verified his decision with me.
