Question Comair Guys

Now Im not trying to poke fun at Comair or anything, I have plenty former schoolmates who work there.

But i gotta know something here, why are you guys airplanes always so un-washed looking?

That's about the least of our problems right now. Though with the new DL colors coming on board they're probably just waiting to put the ratty looking planes through the paint shop.

Anyone else notice that most of our planes have scratches on the passenger windows that could only have been done on purpose? Anyone know the story (stories) on that?

Comair isn't a Customer Service airline. They could care less how their planes look. And if they did, I am sure they would try and recruit pilots to wash them.

1) Why? Did you fly a CR7 that used to be at Comair?
2) Why are we starting a new thread on this?
3) We probably have some of the oldest CRJs.

I flew a plane the other day, that was painted well over 7 months ago, and seems to have been recently waxed....

The truth is, our paint job is primarily white, which shows dirt, grease, etc really well. Also, our aircraft are among the oldest in service. I believe we are operating the oldest CRJ in existence. Many were built in the early 1990's. And last but not least, I highly doubt management cares. It is not my job to wash the airplanes... now that I mention it, I wont have a job in a week...

1) Comair has 7011, the first North American RJ, the first 10 went to Europe.
2) Comair's average fleet age is 9 years old.
SkyWest: 6.9
ASA: 6.7
Pinnacle: 5.1

This is all according to airfleets.net

Maybe you can volunteer to wash them on your off days.
