Question for Comair Pilots sitting on the Curb
#11
The last time I checked, the title of this thread was directed to COMAIR pilots sitting on the curb. I didn't click on this thread expecting to read about ASA's nonrev priorties, and frankly I don't care what they are. The question at hand has to do with the Comair contract and how it applies to the flight benefits of those on furlough.

Its just a bunch of BS. I don’t really understand what is going on with Comair. I might as well get a job with Mesaba. They are the only ones who have been interviewing. Does anyone think that Mesaba and Comair will merge? I am afraid that if I take this position with Mesaba they will merge and then…. THERE goes another round of sonority. Anyone have any thoughts?

There won't be any merger. They couldn't then whipsaw Mesaba and Comair against each other in a few years when Mesaba's cheap seniority list becomes expensive. That is assuming, of course, that Comair is just gutted and not shut down.

It’s a difficult decision to give up on a furlough. Times are tough and I could really use the money. But the risk is a double edge sword… Who knows who will be around in a few years? Does anyone know if Mesaba will make you give up your furlough rights? I am pretty sure flying is better than not flying, but I am pretty sick of first year pay. Mesaba seems like they are getting their stuff together. Does anyone know how the upgrade looks? Ha… I hate being furloughed…. And I am not looking forward to another round of Indoc. . .

Not diminishing your furlough (which sucks), but before you whine about S3B, consider that your former brothers and sisters at ASA are now S3C and can't even get on a mainline or Comair flight because of it. And we're S3CC on all the other DCIs, making them impossible. Only buddy passes get on behind us.
You're still employed..not to diminish the horror of having a job with s3c. Than having no job, and s3b, and not being able to afford to go anywhere (yea that's right..i can't even afford the yield fare).

OK for everyone that Comair has put out to the curb, With the flight benefits droping to S3B do our parents keep any benefits as well. Looks like I will be sitting out on the curb come Jan. This was most likely found in Comair Updates however I am not going through 8000 pages to find it. Thanks.

I've been non rev a lot after i got furloughed, we do not have to pay any yield fair i know this for a fact. But this is my problem, i live in minnesota, even though northwest is now delta, we do not get pass privilages on northwest, nor can we buy zed fairs anymore. I'm going to contact ALPA on the fact we can't fly northwest, because it is now mainline delta.
