I take offense...to your pointing me out stobelma...how long have you been at Mesaba, obviously not enough to stand beside your fellow pilots... never once did I disregard ComAir's pilot group, stop putting words in my mouth that I didn't say...I'm just pointing out the factsprovided on this website that regards pay towards FO's, is that so wrong? Anything over 34 seats should be at mainline... If it has jet engines it should be at mainline. Not our fault... they gave it away... but 76 SEATS!!!! Get out of here. This dude is obviously a noob... espicially after the comair comment. Welcome to the regionals son... where you will spend the rest of your career since there will always be more people just like you excited to fly a 76 seat JET!!!!

Don't worry you can lie to all of your friends about how much you make since the 2007 car your parents bought for you still looks pretty expensive.

Interesting post.... if your salary barely pays for your gas do you think you are being fairly paid for flying a plane of that size? Thanks for proving my point. I bet your are one of those guys who tells everyone you fly for Northwest, not Mesaba. And in case you didn't notice I happen to be flying the same type of aircraft as you... thats what CL 65 means under that picture next to my post. For the amount we get paid we (meaning me and YOU) should be flying something with about 19 seats. Unfortunatley you obviosly don't believe the same which is the reason why we get the pay we do... so please try to use this as a learning expierence.

Who cares what airplane your flying, how much your making, whose company is better...etc. Everyone is here for the same damn reason, and it sure as ****** isnt for the money. Be happy for guys who are safe with a job (for now), and to those who unfortunately lost a job, I hope the best. Im starting to notice that all these threads, no matter how it starts, they all end the same. People arguing about crap they have no control over! Give it a break

Talk to me in a couple years... then you will finally understand where I am coming from. I am happy for Mesaba, good for you for being fortunate enough to be hired into a great and lucky position. You should be thinking about doing it for the pay because if you are like the rest of us... THIS IS YOUR CAREER!!!! You will need the pay. Espicially when you decide to get married and have kids... who one day will need to go to college.

I'm tired of hearing people like this guy... hey man we all love the job, but at the end of the day its nice to be able to pay the bills and have the quality of life we deserve. Did you know that we are held more accountable for maintaining our sharpness at our profession than doctors? I guarantee that any doctor would tell you that they love saving lives... but there would be alot less doctors if they didn't make what they do.

I couldn't agree with you more...but if I got into the regionals for the pay, well...then that was poor planning on my part....I think we all aspire someday to be in a position to do what we love and make pretty good money...but you gotta start somewhere and pay your dues...thats just the system man, sure everyone wants change, but is it worth the BS? Count me in on that group. I tried explaining Mesaba, no one outside of the airline industry west of the Rockies has the first clue who/what Mesaba is. No use even trying anymore.

But you have to ask yourself... do you draw the line when flying a 76 seat jet at the regional where you are "paying your dues" is decreasing your chances of moving on to bigger and better jobs and is also one of the biggest reasons pilots are not making 350k a year anytime in the near future. Lets face it, back when people spent a few years at the regionals and went on to mainline carriers they didn't fly a 76 seat jet from MSP to arizona, and atlanta. I'm not saying you shouldn't have taken the job at Mesaba, but just try to understand that you will probably be there alot longer than you think.... so do us all a favor and try to stand by us when we would like to raise our pay and have some better work rules.

Northwest Airlink is usually what I say...thats what the company suggest...I left NWA for Mesaba so i could fly not sit in a cubicle all day

I just don't understand what your getting at dude...I took the job at Mesaba to fly an airplane, not a Saab not a 200 not a 900...an airplane... what they put me in i couldn't control...and the fact that we are getting 15 more improves my chances of keeping my job...which is great...I have even helped a couple buddies furloughed from TSA get jobs here...should they be blamed as well for now flying a 76 seat aircraft, one that I had no control in negotiating to come to this very airline? If you fly a CL-65 and your telling me that mainline guys should be flying anything better than 34 seats than it just seems to me that your really not in tune with the industry? I think you'de be surprised how many people actually ride on the 900 routes...half the time I fly, a 200 would do the job, the thing(900) is just so d*** economical
