Eagle Will Not Furlough
#1
The president of Eagle, Peter Bowler just sent us a letter saying that after implementing the planned cuts last week there will not be any pilot furloughs.
I'd say that all the Eagle pilots are breathing a huge sigh of relief. The letter also pointed out that we retained our AA flying and also mentioned "getting back" flying from TSA.
I wonder if this letter is just there to keep the pilots a little calmer or if there will be hiring sooner than later?
Can anyone add to the whole "getting more CRJ" thing and how that may effect staffing????

Recruiting is saying publicly that they expect classes in june/july of 09. Even if we were getting more CRJs it would take quite a while to get them from Bombardier let alone getting permission from APA (although Bowler has supposedly told ALPA that they have the funding secured when the green light is lit). I'll personally believe it only when I'm actually in one of these new CRJs and preparing for my departure to XNA.
Good news for Eagle folks though. No furloughs for the foreseeable future.

It would be kind of nice if they'd give some preference to us furloughed Waterskiers if/when hiring resumes. Not saying Eagle owes us anything or that we deserve preferential hiring, but it would be a nice gesture after what's been happening at both places.

Im sure that could be arranged. Do you have a way to get in touch with your TSA union reps? It would be a nice gesture and I hope they can get this done.
