2015 when the current USAir contract expires, I would say AWAC has less than 50/50 of renewing it.
When AWAC loaned USAir 35 mil a few weeks ago, didn't that give AWAC the option to extend the contract past 2015?

I cannot see our planes making it past 2015 they are getting old.

As for the base manager I wish him the best at his next venture. He will do just fine and AWAC will have some big shoes to fill.

I think Piedmont was saying the same thing 10 years ago. Northwest was saying it 20 years ago. UPS was... oh, nevermind.

CRJ's are relatively young.

Its easy to see that Urban Cowboy works for AWAC. Please read and make sure you understand a post before you comment on it. It makes you look dumb.

That is all....

EDIT: more rumors
Phoenix base possible
more furloughs
training dept planing on ramping up
NEW BASE IN CHINA!

Now, these are all rumors! I don't check this forum that often so don't ask me any questions.

People make posts about other airlines all the time....its "easy to see" that you indeed dont check this forum very often.

My point was that if this was official...we would have received a company email about it....which we have not.

Yeah,,,,it's official. Heard from the Northern Tier today. Not via email, but a phonecall.

Urban,
The early retirement is for the pilots chump. Not execs in ATW. It has nothing to do with them.

Either way, this company is in no way a sinking ship. I think their position is very well right now. I think AWAC will be around longer than some expect. Including yourself. If it scares you so much, to think one person is leaving, pack your bags and go with him. One less rat makes it a cleaner ship.

No doubt dude....I think we are gonna be around for a while....im hoping its just in bigger airplanes. I like to try and keep positive for the most part....mostly because I still love what I do...and despite all the BS....id still rather be here than anywhere else.

lol you gonna apply for the recently Vacant Domicle Mgr/Cheif Pilot Position??? lol you got my vote!

You must live in base, or at least on the east coast? I think thats the only way you can enjoy that place any more.

Not to be all negative but just for the other people out there who might want a different perspective...that place is no where near the airline that it used to be. ATW does not care one bit about the pilot group, definitely not how the old CP cared about the pilots. if they can think of a way to screw with you guys, they will, anything to save a penny. All the owners care about is making money (and thats their prerogative), but the family atmosphere isn't there any more, IMHO.

As you can tell, I didn't feel the way you did any longer, so I got out. Its been much better for me after leaving. The bottom line is nothing is secure anymore, just be ready for anything.

You got the numbers reversed... Comair is actually on their 5th CEO in 4 years.
