Awac Dca

Just heard that the DCA pilot manager is quitting and going to greener pastures! Maybe that manager can get a job for the PHL pilot manager and the ARW pilots can start getting respect from base managers instead of the harassment that they receive on a daily basis!
This is a good day, for the pilot group, but I think that this means that the writing is on the wall for the future of AWAC.
The day that you start seeing managers leaving is like watching rats running off a sinking ship.
RIP AWAC

The truth lies not in who leaves but in who comes in to replace them.....

Get a life. Let's see, we've had more High Level managers come on than one low domicile manager leave. Maybe with your intuitive perspective you can start a column for the WSJ and predict everyone's future. Hmmm...the PHL domicile manager left and we are still here. Where was your statement then? This has nothing to do with the status of AWAC. I'd be willing to bet that the pay and bennies at his new job trump what he has at AWAC.

Maybe if you're so willing to bet the future of AWAC you oughta jump ship with him. If you even work here. If not, go speculate elsewhere with your genius insight.

yes, managers have come and left before, but times are different than the past. AWAC has 70 CRJ-200's that are old, tired aircraft and EXPENSIVE to operate. This is just the start, like I said, when you see rats running off a ship, it's has a good chance that it is sinking. So if we start seeing other managers and key people in ATW seeking "Early Retirement", make sure that your resumes are up-to-date!
I am looking for jobs, both in the industry and out, but with the economy its hard to find a job, plus I still have a check coming, how much longer, that is the question. 2015 when the current USAir contract expires, I would say AWAC has less than 50/50 of renewing it.

Me thinks UrbanCowboy is just some poor schlub with 4 hours left sitting airport reserve who got bored and decided to stir the pot some. Nothing to see here.

Nope, sitting at home watching a company that was industry leading do down the crapper!

I don't know AWAC's management organization, but it sounds like the pilot manager is more of a middle management position. A departure of that kind of position doesn't mean the company is going down the crapper. However, if consider companies like Comair who are on their 4th CEO in 5 years, one begins to question the company's survivability.

Comair and Compass just had major shake up way above a base mngr. Wow dude, I agree with the previous caller I am glad I dont share your outlook on life. ASA,SW, Comair all have a ton of 50 seaters. They have to be flown til the $$ obligation is over. You cant say well I dont want them anymore I want bigger ones. My guess is that AWAC is doing the safe thing not overextending in these times. Look at RAH, they would fly the Devil, what did that get them? Created the petting ZOO in PIT til after some crazy back door deal got the work in MKE MCI. Thats the third airline those planes have flown for and they are still pretty new.
