AWAC is probably better positioned than many other regionals. I would read exactly nothing into the departure of DM. Just a dude looking for something else. Used AWAC and his current position as a stepping stone, something most people do when they come to a regional.

As far as the CL-65s getting old. Well, the newest one is not even 5 years old and the oldest is less than 10. Not that old in the airline world. They'll be around until the owners can get out of the leases.

That is all....

EDIT: more rumors
Phoenix base possible
more furloughs
training dept planing on ramping up
NEW BASE IN CHINA!

Now, these are all rumors! I don't check this forum that often so don't ask me any questions.

So which is it?? ;)

I know a few people didn't like DM, but he got all the dirty work that Frisch used to do sometime in late 06/early 07 and THAT gave him a reputation. In all my dealings with him, he was nothing short of an upstanding guy and a VERY good domicile manager. He took all the vitriol and crap from pilots without losing the smile on his face, took no joy in disciplining pilots (at least he told me that multiple times) and was a genuine family man.

Best of luck to him at his new gig...its a brass-ring kinda job!

DM is an upstanding guy who goes to bat for his pilots. Sometimes he can help and sometimes he cant. I wish him the best.

If you had a job offer making almost 200k a year what would you do? Stay at AWAC or work for a stable drug company? Please...

On a side note I only dealt with him once for a safety issue at DCA (imagine that!) he was very helpful and kept me in the loop as my issue went up the command chain.

Welcome to the party... The petting Zoo is gone now and most of our guys are back to work due much impart to saving Midwest (good or bad) and our managements "fly the devil" attitude that keeps our airplanes and crews working.

There are so many things wrong with that paragraph, I don't know where to begin...

Thankfully they were able to save Midwest!! Now Midwest has 9 airplanes flying due to the incredible generosity of Republic Airways!
