I would really love to see a US company benefit from the air travel boom in China the same way Boeing is. It would help lower our trade defecit. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

China may have a much larger population, but it has a considerably smaller group of people that can afford air travel.
Their GDP per capita in china is only $6,300, with an unemployment rate at about 20%. Only a small % of the chines people could afford air travel. The RJ's are more than enough to start with.

THis is a little unrelated
I heard somebody say today that Mesa pays people for the hours they are scheduled to work rather than what they do work - so if your scheduled for 6 and work 8 you get paid for 6. Is this true? and if so is it different from other regional airlines? Also about how many days off are senior captains at Mesa getting per month? Any body out there have some first hand knowledge on this one?
