And, what about transfering to say ORD or the CRJ?

If you get displaced you can go anywhere your seniority holds. This means you can go DFW ATR FO, ORD CRJ FO, or anywhere as long as there is someone junior to you there. But... there will come a point where 44 guys have to go to JFK. Enjoy the commute to your $250 crashpad in Jamaica NY! :)

The funny part is that some of the 44 FO's to be displaced from de EMJ come from the CRJ and will probably get ATR. A total of 3 long term training in less than a year. Can any other airline beat that?

i'm moving outta my jfk crashpad for an lga one...PM me if you want details...250 a month however no one is there...you have the second floor of a two family home to yourself...you'd also be right off the cargo road...a 10 minute drive from the airport if you had your car...nothing like sitting ready reserve from the crashpad....

if i'm LGA EMJ FO with this displacement could i get bumped to SJU ATR FO? or DFW ATR FO?

From what I've gathered, no. the only ones getting displaced are DFE and DCE. plus theyre posting vacancies in your domicile. so if anything, you'd have junior ppl coming on under you. The only way you would go from LGA to the ATR is if you proffered to displace.

lol that's what i figured but just b/c i'm so junior everytime there is a vacancy bid i always get a little nervous b/c anything is possible these days...

That's not the only way. In theory, if all 44 displaced DFE could hold and displaced to LGA FO, there would be a surplus of LGA FO's. These FO's would be displaced to wherever there seniority could hold. If the junior LGA FO is the most junior pilot at Eagle and there is a only a SJU FO slot left, guess where he is headed? Don't forget that a SJU FO upgrading to CA now creates a SJU FO vacancy.

Bottom line is always have your displacement preferences up to date! Merry Christmas from your AMR family!!

I'm ashamed I don't know the answer to this question, but oh well.

If you are one of the ones to get displaced, can you be awarded only a posted vacancy or will they give you whatever your seniority will hold? Just doing the simple math, the number of respective CA and FO displacements don't add up!
Thanks!

No, if you are displaced you can bid to any base, or any equipment your seniority can hold.

You can proffer to displace (basically volunteer to displace) to a base/equipment vacancy... and they do the volunteers first, but you could then end up bumped by a senior person who gets moved through regular displacement.

The number don't have to add up, and in reality, they never should.... re: CA & FO. There are normally more CA's at any base anyway since they have more training cycles, more vacation, and it all needs to be covered with more CA's.
