I guess that was sorta what I was thinking..... why not move to PHL or nearby anyway. Pennsville NJ is a nice qieut town not far from Philly....
And I guess the other question begs why you cant to four day trips...
either way its all personal choice and I certainly understand that. Keep beating the bushes and something will likely show up.....but damn its tough time to be looking for a job ...of any kind. Good luck.

Apply to Boeing Employees Flying Association as a CFI. The students write a check directly into the name of the CFI. I was a student there and writing a check to my instructor for $40 per hour. They had full schedules at that time. So think about it. 7 hour days 5 days a week, is 35 hours at $40 per hour, $1,400 per week, $6,000 per month.
I also am from Seattle. Reserve sheriff deputy, corrections officer, and a then a UPS delivery driver in Everett for 2 years. Something you want to look into, if you need medical insurance for your family. Is to be a part-time package handler for UPS. They promote from within. Package delivery driver was a lot of fun and after 30 months seniority you will make $72K. For package handling, their always hiring and their very welcome to your schedule. Pay is low but the medical benefits you get are the same as a full time package delivery driver. Its amazing. Pays 90% of everything. No copay. We had a driver that had a new born that had complications, medical bill was something like $30K, and they picked up the bill 100%. UPS is a great company, I left to get my PIC ME time and wanting to go back.
Its a tough career and we take a TON of sacrifices for it. So many people would take a job as a pilot so we give up a lot and the companies dont have to have incentives cus pilots will continue to love to fly.
Good luck man. I've recently realized the strength of love and leaving my employer also.

Thanks guys,
Some really good ideas. I want to let you guys know that your ideas are all good and I have been checking into all of them. However, the moving to PHL is too hard. I moved enough times to find out the base is closing. I want out of the airline rat race. With the exception of an airline that does out and backs like allegiant.
I checked UPS and FEDEX but they are not hiring drivers. I can't wait a year for medical benifits so package throwing is out. I am checking into the police gig, but so far I'm hearing that it is a long process to get hired.
I applied to the Alteon openings and I have applied to about 50 openings at Boeing... all great jobs that I would love to get... but so far no luck.
Thanks again to everyone... keep it rollin..
Happy Holidays
Jake

Thanks Guys,
I will keep my resume updated with hawaiian, but don't think I can wait til mid 09 for a job. Although the thought of any airlines increasing their fleet is always a positive.
I don't know how the Air force base works, but would I have to join the reserves? Does that mean boot camp and deployment to iraq... cuz that might be worse than commuting to PHL
Thanks
Jake
