A 50 seat at Air Wisconsin doesn't cost the same as a 50 seat at PSA or CHQ. The number of seats isn't the only deciding factor.

I don't think there are any carriers that want to add 50 seaters to their fleet, even if they are replacements. If they do, it would most likely be an agreement like those discussed earlier in which ASA would be responsible for all operating costs(including fuel). The profits would only be there for ASA if they were there for whomever they operated the jets for. JMO.
If an entire regional airline goes down even if the major doesn't decide to bring back many the 50 seaters they'll still need a significant amount of replacements.

The 50 seat market is shrinking but it won't disappear...

In otherwords... it makes better financial sense to find a way to get rid of as many 200s in the system that DL doesn't pay for (wholly owned a/c or a/c they lease to the contractors). That's why it sounds like they went to ASA and made them this deal. Whereas it's harder for DL to park planes they pay for... as in the ones they lease and then sublease to Pinnacle and Mesaba.
It is my understanding that SKW Inc controls/owns all the rights to all of ASA's a/c, I could be wrong. I do know that we own all our a/c at SKW. We also control/own the rights to most of our gates and we run most all of our ops west of DEN (LAX, SFO, SLC, PDX and most all the outstations as well are SKW).

My point was US Airways is under long-term contract for a big chunk of 50 seaters among multiple airlines today, and Doug Parker has publicly said multiple times he thinks LCC has too many 50 seaters...so why the F would US Airways want more 50 seaters?

I agree, the only way that anyone will operate any CR2's for US is if Mesa goes under and even then don't expect any long term deals unless it includes future plans to park them.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if ASA ends up in IAD for UAL with the CR2's. I know they're trying to dump them for CR7's but they could end up there until they can be converted over. But don’t expect ORD or anything further west anything soon.

I never said it would disappear, but if it's shrinking then where will ASA put those airplanes? Plus, lets hope the replacements are at mainline. That provides better jobs for all of us.

Again I agree I hope to be looking up at you on the DAL list one day, hopefully sooner than later.

It is amazing how many regional pilots are enjoying the guys who are getting furloughed at the majors...what a pathetic group. So many are pounding their chest saying HA HA! They will be silenced once recalls happen and they do not know what to say.

Who's happy about majors furloughing? Also, how would recalls be anything but good for regional pilots?
