Default Regional Pilots: The New Year

It's that time of year again where we have the opportunity to take a few minutes and reflect on the time that's passed as well as make a few plans/choices for the future. 2008 has been a year many will remember. For me the best part was simply keeping my job. I can't count how many sleepless nights I've had tossing and turning wondering what the future will bring. It's definitely been tough but the great thing about New Years is the ability to draw a line in the sand and wave goodbye to the past then turn around and take a new step.

I know it's just another day but for some reason I've always felt I could simply brush off the bad and only carry on with the good. I hope that all of you are able to do the same. It's these times we admit the things that bind us are greater than those that pull us apart. Here we have differing opinions and take firm stances with one another yet out there it's still a free first round on me should anyone be in IAH. I guess that's how you know how serious to take things here. Johnso29 and I've been talking about our New Year's resolutions. Simple ones that are easy to follow and make a big difference. Take a little time to make a few and be honest with yourself then carry those into the new year.

I'll see you in 09!
Duck

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

And surely you’ll buy your pint cup !
And surely I’ll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there’s a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o’ thine !
And we’ll take a right good-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS
Generally you only sing the first and last verse. Auld lang syne originated in the 1700s. It's Scottish and means "old long time".

Jolly Good Sir!! I didn't know you had it in you, TD.

Auld Lang Syne was one of my late father's favorite. I lost him a few years ago and every time I hear this song, I miss him. He was a tough guy who lived through numerous combat missions and yet he was a very sentimental guy.

Happy New Year to all my compadres del cielo!

Economically 2009 will be even worse. But lets bring it in with a bang anyway. Good luck.

Economically 2009 will be better. Airlines are expected to pull around 300mil in profit vs 4billion in losses. Party foul on your post.

Well, I don't think 2009 can be much worse for me...went through a company shutdown and a furlough.
