You tried to get a flight attendant to elaborate?! Why would you do that!

IATA codes are two letter. ICAO codes are three letter.

Use the link above and enter the code in the appropriate column. Voilá! Now you know what people are talking about.
WATCH IT CRUISE! You just made my favorites list
I'm still a little confused I guess with all the different airlines out that and the branded/non-branded flying.
When I used your link and input 9E - it showed Northwest airlink. When I used the name Pinnacle - it showed no results.
Thanks for the link in any case.

Clearly saving two letters is important!

There is a British Airways 747-400 pilot who worked as a Flight Attendant when he was laid off. I am sure he knows a lot more about 'flaps' then you do. I can give you many examples of pilots who worked as Flight Attendants after they have flow the same airplane.

I think people are trying to say it comes off a little smug. Especially since it doesn't even look like the company's name. Naturally, we probably are a little nerdy when it comes to pilot stuff, and using the codes really drive that home.

I said it before and I'll say it again. XJ makes me think of ExpressJet, not Mesaba.

The key here is you should be catching the advice people are throwing at you to when you are acting really nerdy. Shall we keep hinting at it for you guys?

Remember when you told that hot girl in class how you beat superchief91 in a Halo death match and he was the best guy out of 1 million players online to beat? You thought it would really impress her how cool you are. Remember how she never talked to you again? Yeah, it's like that.

again, show me the nerdiness......for a statement that says basically, if you are too lazy or too new to look it up, don't whine to the guys that are in the know and use the "code".

Having class drop is when someone says "this guy would suck to fly with and does not belong in the industry" for something as trite as disagreeing on abbreviations

Might as well close this thread up. It has served it's purpose and no more need to name call and bicker over the internet. This profession will never change until we all get along.
