Yea, if i push the right earcup against my head when the headset is on i hear a tin foil sounding crackling noise as well, however, it's not the same noise I'm describing.

Yea, about the RJ being so quiet, not so much. Compare it to a 717 or something and you'll see a quiet cockpit. The RJ is loud in barber pole descents and the 700 is loud as hell with the gear down. Keep the thread on topic is all I'm trying to say.

Now that's fantastic...! Guy's I've flown with say that the Bose's don't really need the ANR in the Jet...But I'll say that in my commuting, the CRJ's really aren't that quiet as far as aircraft go.

Bose is great about fixing anything with the headset. As G2TT said, not only will they fix the problem but replace your screens and ear covers for free when you send it in.

Headsets like these will always have problems, nice to know you can fix it easily enough.

One thing is for sure, in the Saab these things are a lifesaver

I occasionally commute on the Saabs and 1900's...As a passenger for even just a short-flight I think those things are nearly required. An hour without and the ears are ringing
