I may sound like an idiot here but what does the upside-down epaulettes signify:confused:

I've worn them upside down many of times. It's called reduced rest. Most of the time I'm happy to have my pants on correctly.

But you did it on accident, not to look like a "cool" tool. |

I have only seen "these" one time... and it was a XJ guy who was giving me a hard time for "not flying the 9" in the line at lenny's. I explained to him that the -9 is a DC-9, but the -900 is a beautiful airplane. He proceeded to tell me how he made more money, flew to better places, and how he was in the best spot in aviation. I asked him what his QOL was and he said "O, I'm on reserve so about 11 days off and 3/4 weekends". I chuckled and he couldn't figure out why!
My "brother" is now at XJ and on the -900 so I have heard why guys say the -9 and all, but this one guy was a rotten apple. I have nothing against XJ but on topic of the upside down epaulets... yep... seen it.... |
not wearing the tie is the new "upside down epaulets"...

I've actually worn the epaulets facing the wrong way (the seam was down thank god) by accident... can easily happen on a min rest overnight with a long van drive after a day of slugging through nasty weather. Captain caught it, and still won't let me live that down- even after 2 years. Eh, honest mistake! :D |
At least they are still putting their wings right side up.
|
Ok, I'm curious. Why do you take your epaulet's off at the hotel? I don't take mine off until I'm back home to put them on a clean shirt. How many shirts do you guys usually pack?
