Has it been confirmed by the company yet?

No disrespect, but I've been lied to one too many times by an ALPA rep to take anything said to me at face value.

I'll believe it when I'm flying one of them.

From the Eagle Pilot Q&A page on Jetnet:

"Question: (1-22-09) Is it true Eagle just bought some old ASA ATRs to fly here? If so, where will the ATRs be based?

Response: I have contacted the powers that be and have been advised that American Eagle has not purchased any additional ATR aircraft."

So the email I get from ALPA LEC 83 states that we are supposed to be getting 4 ATRs that will be on property in 6 to 12 months. They don't mention the source of the planes though...

I will believe it when I am behind the controls of one, however. Maybe I'm a skeptic, but I've been burned by rumor before and I'm not inclined to believe things I hear. I require direct proof.

So I'm not willing to take it to the bank (or AA Credit Union) at this juncture - I'd rather buy a few thousand shares of Mesa stock. It may be a better investment!

I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't believe things just because ALPA says it.

If its true, it'll be great...but its probably to replace some older ones that are tired and worn. Did ASA fly the 212A or just the four bladed beauty?

They haven't purchased them. Have they leased them?

No alphas, they are straight 72s with some configuration differences. They are early 90's vintage I have been told so don't get your hopes up.

Sweet, make room on the maintenance ramp for 4 more broken ATRs in DFW.

I suppose 90s vintage would be better than some of the 80s vintage 72s we have! I don't even look at the AC total time anymore - I usually don't like what I see!

I dont believe it until they are flying with EAGLE PILOTS up front. In the meantime, thats just more ALPA propaganda.
