PBS at ASA
#1
One of the recent ASA connection newsletters I saw said that the MEC and the company were looking at implementing PBS. If PBS is passed will that result in further furloughs? I've heard that a PBS system can reduce the need for up to 10% of a pilot work force. I know that ASA has the "no furlough" clause but I honestly believe that it isn't worth the piece of paper it is written on. If PBS were passed could we see 10% of the remaining workforce furloughed at ASA?

I would agree, considering they are furloughing.

OK, Thanks for the clarification. I forgot that I read that earlier. Let's hope that they can't break it.

Thanks, I think all 80 of us on the street need all the help we can get in getting our jobs back. Hopefully we find a home for at least 10 of those -200s, maybe even all 20. It's very unlikely but you never know and I would hate to see more pilots joining us on the street in the spring.

That is not the true meaning of pbs! It should be a tool for pilots and f/a to correctly bid their lines with minimal effort. Unfortunately several vendors do their pbs with a focus on company profits instead of the true meaning which is people happiness!
