Mesa stock hits .04 cents.......

Glad I didn't buy any last week. I think I might if it hits a penny though.

I'm not a Mesa suppporter, but why start another Mesa bashing thread:)

I don't think he's bashing. Sounds to me like he just is trying to talk openly about investment decisions.

Why does this feel like the media, always "stock is the lowest in three days!!!!" isn't there already a mesa's stock is almost nothing thread...i believe at the time of my posting, it's only three threads below this one...c'mon, it even went until closing yesterday, and a little after closing session trading.

ExperimentalAB 02-12-2009 07:37 AM

We all know it is fantastically low...!!

That made me laugh out loud.

(LOL would not be sufficiently long enough to meet the 10 character posting minimum)

I'll agree with the others on this thread.... I'm not a fan of Mesa but I don't think this thread is necessary, we have a thread for when it was 0.06 and now for 0.04, when it drops to 0.03 is someone going to start another thread..... Come on guys

Pontius Pilot 02-12-2009 12:25 PM

Its definitely a duplicate thread...but I don't think everybody reads through all available posts to determine whether or not they are re-hashing something...nor should they be required to. Free exchange of ideas and all that.

Mesa has 60 days from January 5th to comply with the NASDAQ listing regulations - i.e., it must have an average value of $1.00 or greater for 10 consecutive business days or it will be delisted. They have successfully fought delisting a few times now, but I doubt they will be able to continue. When the stock is finally delisted it will be worthless. So it doesn't matter how cheap it is right now, eventually it won't have an exchange to trade on.

I don't foresee them being able to raise the price to $1.00 any time in the near future. People are looking for bargains right now, but they will steer clear of the airlines because of the lack of ability to raise money. Analysts know our industry is in trouble and it isn't going to turn around any time soon. As a result, nobody is going to touch this stock in the near future. I don't care how savvy the management is.

Then there won't be any more Mesa stock threads at all.

Not exactly. You do not need an exchange to buy and sell stock. Two people can get together and do a deal, like what happens in after-hours trading.

The problem is that lack of an exchange makes it harder...you can't just point and click with scottrade or whatever. This means that mesa stock will be worth less because the average investor or institution will not want to bother with that hassle. Only a few specialist traders might be interested.

But it sure won't help them obtain DIP financing for the BK filing.

For anyone who wants to take this as another opportunity to bash Mesa.... read my post first. Thanks.

If I don't see a new thread when it hits .03 I'm going to be very upset.

NoJoy 02-12-2009 04:10 PM

I will start one at .01 ;)

Unless a reverse stock split occurs, like Express Jet.

Actually, due to the low market cap a reverse split is impossible. They're stuck riding this one out.
