I thought that code sharing SWA did with a Mexican airline was essentially SWA flying starting to be outbid? Am I wrong here? Regional flying taking over major flying is outbidding also. It may be a different form of outbidding than what Regionals go through, but nothing is safe anymore.

I could be way off the map here, but I'm fairly certain the SWA code sharing with Mexicana (or whatever airline it is) is NOT them being outbid. They are also beginning a code share with WestJet in Canada. This is for them to start broadening their horizons to an international market instead of strictly domestic

Again, I could be wrong here, and I'm more than open to being corrected!

There is nothing wrong with making a regional a career, have lots of friends that did, but driving to work, doing no more than 2 legs a day and not worring about someone else " outbidding " my flying is nice to have.
2 legs a day?!?!?! God that would be SOOOOO nice!!! Haha, a good day for us is 4 legs ... and a bad day as much as 9 legs!!!

Unfortunately, the people who make it far enough into flight training to benefit from what you've just said all have tunnel vision---and will only be able to learn the hard way. That's the problem with loving to fly...you're a sucker right up until you've sunk your time, money, and life into it.
