Mesa Stock

I'm really confused here. How can Mesa still be allowed to trade on the Nasdaq when their shares are down to 0.0520 ?

Am I missing something?? Wouldn't they scrap the stock and consider it penny-stocks and take it off the active trading market??

ehe2 03-11-2009 08:28 AM

you are missing something...it's now down to .0498 now!

JoeyMeatballs 03-11-2009 08:30 AM

Has to be below $1.00 for a certain amount of time, I dunno the exact limit............

SkyStormer6 03-11-2009 08:32 AM

I heard they suspended the delisting rule due to the crappy economy and the fact that there are so many stocks trading below $1. I'm pretty sure whatever the time limit was mesa has exceeded it.

Washout 03-11-2009 08:44 AM

I kinda wanna buy 10000 shares just to see what happens

Word, but wait for it to hit .03... buy low, sell high.

ugflyer 03-11-2009 09:01 AM

It's kinda interesting that not only myself was or is watching this. I sat at my computer half that night looking at this stock and having all kinds of ideas in my head. Anyway, I hope the best come sout of this.

ToiletDuck 03-11-2009 09:31 AM

There was a delisting ban however that was dropped in Jan I believe and they had till june to get the price back up. I could be wrong on those dates but I think I'm in the ballpark. This one's not really worth looking up :)

el jefe 03-11-2009 10:27 AM

Wow, another Mesa Stock thread?

rickair7777 03-11-2009 11:47 AM

The delisting moratorium has been canceled, and MAG has been notified that they will be delisted if they cannot get the stock above one dollar for ten consecutive days...I think they have another month or two.

ComairFO 03-11-2009 11:52 AM

I'm no finance guru, but the only way this thing gets above $1.00 is if they reverse-split the heck out of this thing!

Another way would be if:
The Sun, Mars, Venus, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune all aligned perfectly for one day, and on that day J.O. found millions of dollars in a trash can and paid off all debt....and then died.

Then, just maybe, the stock could top $1.00 for ten days in the next few months.:D

powrful1 03-11-2009 03:48 PM

Well the other problem is the bond holders that took the stock deal....last month there was 75 million shares....today there are about 106 million and change. When the flooding is done there will be about 975 million at the very least.....this will further pressure the stock downward.

Fast forward to this being done and if the shares have any value you would be looking at about 1 cent. That would mean there would have to be a 9,750,000 to 1 split minimum. Of course a reverse split would also pressure the stock lower, so you would really have to shoot for a 10,000,000 to 1.

So the chance of coming out of this without being delisted slim to none, although being delisted isn't the end of the world...that would be losing the Delta injunction where the clock is ticking on that.

SpiraMirabilis 03-11-2009 04:49 PM

Mesa isn't issuing 975,000,000 new shares. That was the amount that they got authorization for, though.

How many shares are in Mesa? Could we pool enough money and buy a 50% share and fire JO? Of course hypothetically speaking.

EDIT: Looked up on Yahoo and with 272,556 shares you would need $6815 to buy a controlling interest. That would be 20 people chipping in $370. That assumes the share count is accurate.

Its amazing how a company that may or may not be teetering on the verge of bankruptcy and failure is interesting to some people. The best Idea is if your sick of reading threads on Mesa, stop clicking the link. No one is forceing you to read anything.

Wow that's practically nothing to own an airline. The Mesa pilots should buy the joint and kick out JO. Even if the airline ended up failing I'm sure there are enough company owned assets to sell to make back $6,815. As worthless as a CRJ-200 is I'm sure you could get plenty of money out of one of them to make the investment worthwhile.

dvtpilot 03-12-2009 09:41 AM

I'd be more than happy to chip in my $370.

MESA - Mesa Air Group, Inc. - Google Finance

According to that page: 106.15 million shares.

sulkair 03-12-2009 10:14 AM

you'd actually need much more than that because as you purchased it, the price would go up to entice other's to sell. You can't buy a share unless someone is willing to sell it. It would probably climb quite substantially before you could get 50 percent of the shares.

Purpleanga 03-12-2009 01:28 PM

Things are looking up at Mesa, it's up to 6 cents.

:D:D:D It's a 20% jump in the price of stock in one day!!!

You guys may as well go play some poker with your money, it's about equivilent risk. With that said I did buy 1600 shares when it wast at $0.04. I figure that if it becomes completely worthless I have a little more to worry about than like $60.

More like 60 million shares, and that number continues to rise. 51% will also run you at least $2 million.

BBedford 03-18-2009 04:56 PM

bought it at .04...sold it today at .10. life is good.

If you sold it at .1 you might have enough extra cash to buy that new ipod you've always wanted. How much of that did you have to give away in taxes?

Boomer 04-19-2009 06:16 PM

Well, looks like Mesa has turned the corner and they're out of the woods.

Stock has been over a dime for a month now. :D

I hear J.O. is looking for A-380 financing.

Are they going to trade in every single airplane they currently have? Maybe they can fly around the country and pick people and drop them off like a city bus...24 hours a day. They would only need three crews! Think of the savings!

Really? I thought it was some regional flying for Virgin Galactic, ISS to the moon. He just had to come up with the money for the space crafts. :D

arizonastpilot 04-20-2009 06:07 PM

Rumor is....Mesa is getting the Dreamliner and will start flying from PHX to many european hotspots. I also think there going to be bumping up first year FO pay to like 23 dollars an hour to fly the thing. On a side note, the DL ruling should be coming out in the next 10 days right?

I thought they were going to fly the A380 PHX-TUS shuttle 8 times a day.
