That's cool. I remember back in the spring/summer when the ACARS gate assignment thing first started, and in EWR it was so rarely correct that it was just ridiculous. I remember getting chewed out by ops for parking at the wrong gate after we followed what was on the ACARS instead of calling them first. That was fun.

Glad to hear it's gotten better though. :)

Being chewed out by ops was a right of passage in EWR especially when they f-ed up. Just like getting yelled at but the ramp Nazi when we still parked at C2 when life was good.

Oh iPilot no one is arguing who has the best ramp, we are arguing who has the worst ramp. By far 98% of Mexico stations BJX, MTY, HUX, GDL have the best ramp and customer service. The US rampers and gate agents need to take lessons from them.

we did a turn out of MTY, shut down the airplane and we both went to stretch our legs outside for 10 min. When we stepped back in the cleaners were polite as they were leaving and the cockpit/cabin was spotless. they wiped it down surprisingly well... like your car after the car wash. I will never make a joke about mexico ops ever again.

When I last in GDL we just cleared the runway and started heading over to the gate and I noticed the marshaler 2 wing walkers the GPU guy with the cord in his hand, the cleaners and the federalies all waiting for us. Just like you said the plane was cleaner then when we left IAH and they were very professional and polite to us. I loved mexico turns.

I have to agree with you guys, the folks in Mexico are incredibly efficient at their jobs, and the gate agents as mentioned earlier have the best customer service, another reason why I don't mind doing the overnights down there at least 4 or 5 times a month; besides, the view is quite nice :D

As far as worst ops, well, I've been to IAD a few times, and they are about 10 times better than EWR. EWR is just a different animal, it's a small regional hub in the middle of an international hub with only 1 runway to get in and out (usually), and now with terminal A, it's created one of the most challenging operations in the country.

It's like an army of workers there waiting for something to do. They really appreciate their jobs down there even if it means cleaning the toilet. Sometimes they even wash the plane on the overnight! Now you know where to send your dirty planes.

I agree GDL (guadals) is the beez kneez ... 15 ground handlers and the quickest turn of my life. Did you call for the tacos on the in-range? I just love the "in case of radio communications failure as i head straight for the ridges." :p
