When the Feb& March notes came due, settlements on those were 960 million shares. Outstanding shares when they started was 75 million and now 106 million. Of course it is a house of cards and those shares hit the market it will push the stock back down....not to mention JO is scum!

don't invest in an airline, invest in something like GE. A long term investment with a company that has been around for a long time, and a company that is going to be around for a long time. Buy it now, it is about the lowest it has been in years.

The key is to determine whether the stock is an investment or a trade...... An investment is bought based on expected long term growth where a trade is purchased based on an event and when that event passes is sold. I used to think investments were the way to go but in the last 36 months I have made more by far trading than investing.

ITs definietly not an investment. But if you follow Cramer's strategies, he recommends having a little money depending age use up to 20 percent of your portfolio for speculation or gambling. If you want another gamble throw $200 into buying Iraq dinar

Cramer (like all investment managers) gets some right and some wrong. While I like a lot of what he says, if you watch he actually trades a lot instaed of "investing". Typically an investment is held for years where a trade may be held for minutes to less than 24 months. Everybody has to decide their own investment/trading style. Personally I do both.

There is a lot to be made trading as long as you use a brokerage firm with low fees and you base you trades on knowledge. The stock market is driven by two factors, fear and greed. When times are good greed sets in, when times are bad the fear takes over. By using this to ones advantage you can make sound investments in both good and bad times.

Never short this kind of stock with these volumes and fluctuations, are you insane?

I too bought some stock when it was between 4 and 5 cents. I had a trigger set to buy some more (more than 50,000 shares) at 3 cents but it never tripped, which leads me to believe that the period of time it was at a penny was someone who wanted the price to drop doing a large block trade with himself (or herself.)

In any event, this stock has been moving greater than 20% daily. It's not wise to short it, especially given the low value of it. If you buy a stock, the greatest loss you can have is your initial investment and the most profit you can make is an unlimited amount of money. If you short a stock the greatest loss you can have is an unlimited amount of money and the most profit you can make is doubling your money.

You short today expecting the price to go down after the past week's runup, what happens if tomorrow the Delta ruling comes out in favor of Mesa and the price jumps up to a dollar? Even if it is only a dollar for a few days before dropping down, you're stilled screwed if its a dollar when you have to pony up those shares.

anybody know what is behind this last jump in stock from 14 to 20?

Probably somone knows something. Mesa's another thing but money is money, I would probably get in on it doubt it's going to get cheaper.

Nothing magical here. If you look closer, nearly every index is up on the day. This tells me that volume will be up, which it is, and more people have more money in the market. Even though Mesa is up 21%, it's nothing more than more money is in the market this week with people looking for "quick hits" like some of you are.
