Newport News to Charlotte, 5 hours day before my birthday. We pushed off the gate three times and went back twice after sitting out for an hour with each 15 minute update expecting to be released. When I finally made the PA flight attendants be seated for departure we heard cheers through the door.... Of course US Air gives free liquor after like 45 minutes... so they were all wasted. To add insult to injury I ended up overnighting in Charlotte when I was supposed to have my birthday off.

Haha, I had to do that in CLT last year too. Supposed to do ORF-ORD and be done, but we ended up having to ferry it gear down to CLT, then I got JRA'd to do a repo flight to ORD at 4am... Happy Birthday!

Unbelievable.

This thread was not started as who had the longest flight... But as a long EDCT time... 4:20 EDCT is long... they should have GS PHL instead...

5 hours trying to go from EWR to BWI. If the captain was cool we would just tell the pax the real deal and keep the door open so the FA's wouldn't feel alone with the crazy pax.

If the CA was cool he would have gone back to the gate and let the people off.

You are correct... Totally wrong to leave the people on the a/c for a long EDCT.

My trip this past week was blocked and credited at 20:00, and when we finished it was slightly over 22. B or B really takes some stress out of delays for me. I could care less about delays now, I need the cash badly as I'm in the middle of buying a house! ahhhh!!!!

You're a f/o on a CRJ making at tops $40/hr... A professional pilot should not need to rely on over block on delays to make his house payments. Even if you over block 5 hours a month that that's only $200 before tax (if u r making $40/hr which you probly are not). If you have to count on delays to pay your bills something is not right… Get some really pay rates and duty/trip rigs and stop making the pax pay the price for your horrible pay rates!!

Hey! You're right! ORD, LGA, ATL and JFK were always on-time in the 70's and 80's!

Yes.:D
