Isn't there a bunch of them sitting on the ramp in Tucson just looking for a home?

That's why they put them on the A-10. They'll eat almost anything and keep running.

I once sucked in a huge chunk of ice that broke off of the galley water fill port (drain froze and water overflowed). We were doing about 280 at 350 (~450TAS). It q-tipped 4 blades but all we got was a 2.8N1 vib. Pulled the power back and it was back to green. Never had to shut it down, made a precautionary (but not emergency) landing. When we landed we found a 16 inch ball of ice on the side of the airplane.
