Do you tip hotel van drivers?

I don't feel bad about not tipping (if I don't have cash on me). These days, I hardly carry any cash with me anyways, and with barely enough time off to run to the bank on my days off, it's not at the top of my priority list to get dollar bills for the van drivers. Especially considering all the other concessions we're taking...
I do tip the good ones though for good service if I have a buck, but they have to be friendly and not act like they're entitled to the tip. It's a courtesy the way I see it, and if they need a bigger salary it ought to be negotiated with their employer.
Besides, I grew up in Europe... no one (aside from foreigners) tip over there, so I don't feel bad for not doing it if I must. I just look them in the eye and say: "Thanks"!

I saw some good arguments about not tipping (though I personally still think you should tip for good service)... but the fact that other countries don't do it so we shouldn't either.. is bad reasoning. That's like saying we shouldn't use utensils because some other countries eat with bare hands, or a gazillion other things that other countries do differently. Or Obama saying we need universal healthcare not because of this and that, but because the Europeans have it. Or asking your mom, why cant I go on this school trip, Paul is going too. And then your mom saying if Paul jumped off a bridge would you jump off too. I may not like tipping but that's the practice and culture, here in our country.

I always give a tip! I may tell them to "Not bet on the horses", or "look both ways before crossing the street!"
