Why does the trashbag hang on the FO's chair?
#21
As with other OH posts on here, we usually had a bag on both CA and FO side. This must be the extra money we are spending that lead to furloughs and our loss of Delta flying hours (they say OH is too expensive). To make it worse, we usually through out the bags along with the galley trash after each leg (usually one, sometimes both). Then again, I never had "smelly trash" as some have suggested.

Oh you fancy little jet boys.
The ol Saab has the bag hanging on the jumpseat located between and behind both the FO and CA. And since the Saab is extremely weight restricted, the seat is never used.
Do you see the problems now with your shiny jets?

Somewhere around my second or third trip when I wasn't used to having the bag hanging off the armrest I started tucking it behind the seat. During that trip the CA got fed up with pulling it out to throw things away so he put it on his chair. After I got used to throwing things away on his side he grabbed a nice expensive lunch, put the trash back on my side and hung the lunch on his armrest in the same kind of bag as the trash. Having never seen the swap I proceeded to throw away half a coffee and a salad. His lunch was ruined. Ooopps! I think it is on the F/O's side since we as pilots are creatures of habit and bad things happen when you change stuff.

Hey, what a novel idea! I wish my other pilots would clean their trash out when they land too!

You know... When I first read the subject of this thread, I thought it was another joke.... (Like, "Why do they always make Gojet jumpseaters sit by the lav?" "'Cause they try to keep all the ****** in one place")...
On-topic, the trash bag in the ERJ hangs from the jumpseat as well.. It's on the FO's side, but only 'cause that's where the seat folds to...
