Default Crew members names

Out of curiousity, who keeps track of the crew members they fly with, why do you keep track of it, and for what reason? I never do, but was wondering why.

I write down CA's and FA's.... along with any type of delay/issue that keeps us from a normal day. Just want to cover my backside.

I write Capts and any issues, or something memorable. Also if first time with that Cpt, write a notation about them. A good reminder for next time.

I write both down, just a reminder who I flew with and I try to know everybody's name so next time I don't have to just say "hey! hi" thing. I can actually insert a name there, knowing other co-workers name goes a long way! =)

PS: I also write the capt's name on my note section in the logbook.

I used to but gave up on it. There was never really any reason to do it.

Careful not to leave that in the plane- or crew room.

Another good reason to write the CA's or FO's name is for reference when it comes time to interview for bigger and better jobs. It seems just about every interview these days (including some non-airline) is a "tell me about a time when..." format. Obviously, if you pop an engine, you'll remember who it was with but a lot of interview questions are more subtle. So to prepare for an interview, you'll start by going through your logbook to jog your memory and looking for answers that could fit for a possible interview question.

Trust me... I've conducted interviews at XJT and been to a SWA and NJA interview, and VERY recently, a non-flying interview and things are very similar across the board.
