Default Who will be the CRJ 1000 US customer?

There is an undisclosed order US order for 16 crj 1000 aircraft. Its scheduled to make its first passenger flight this fall with a european airline. Will it be a Regional, LCC, or a Major?

Republic has pretty much commited themselves to be an Embraer product-line company. The excepting is the Continental Express CRJs, which only exist because we needed 50 seaters quickly, after ExpressJet's failed to come to us. Most of which have already been returned to the leasing company. I think there are only 9 remaining.

SADLY, it's my opinion that the CRJ 1000 will be flown by a regional operator no matter where it goes. Regardless of the number of seats, anything built by Embraer or Canadair seems to be considered "regional." With afew exceptions ofcourse (JetBlue, US Airways, Air Canada, ect.).

Doesn't really matter...the 100-seat RJ cherry has already been...popped.

I doubt they are going to midwest...that market appears locked up by RAH, and they are on weak financial footing. SGU would not buy 16 large airplanes for a crapshoot like that.

I would think they would go to a major. However...I can't imagine of why a major would keep an airplane order a secret. That leads me to suspect they might be going to a regional...or maybe a major which will then outsource their operation..

There are a couple of majors out there with no scope.

Who says they are going to a US Airline? Maybe they are going to a leasing company.
