Default TSA PILOTS 2 DAYS to VOTE!!!

Rumor has it that only 60% of Trans States Pilots have placed a vote regarding an authorized strike. Voting closes on June 10th!!! I have personally heard captains say that they just threw out the letter from the union, not even realizing or caring that personal voting information was included. This is CARELESS!!! This is one of the contributing factors to why Trans States is the ******************** Hole that it is today! Let me remind you that we are an airline and we set standards for the industry and we are currently less mesa rates!!! Listen to your Union officials and trust them through this CBA negotiating process and cast your vote before it's too late. Show UNITY and prove to the company that you will stand together as fellow pilots to get what we deserve. I am highly dissapointed in the lack of turnout for such an important point in Trans States pilot history!!! If you have not voted-SHAME ON YOU!

Before you start bashing the pilots for not voting you should know that the union reps (P2P) said that if you are on the fence about voting yes or no, then don't vote.

I was also told that if 60% (all voting pilots) vote YES, is better than having 100% of pilots voting with a 60/40 split.

And yes I did vote.

You make a good point, But mine is, why are so many on the fence?? I am dissapointed in the apathy expressed among many of the pilots....

If you were a senior captain pulling in 80-90k with years of seniority you'd be reluctant too. In the airline world, one is USELESS outside of the company they are in, especially in this economy. Some are scared the company will close and many of them just cannot accept that.

FOs have less to lose by nature.

If I were a senior captain, I'd want to take this one and ONLY chance to secure a senior spot at an airline for the rest of my career. Without job protection, even the number 1 guy is going to lose is job within a couple years.

The company can/will close its doors someday and the decision will be based on the finances of the company, not a CBA. If the numbers jive, the pilots will have "job protection". If the numbers don't jive, there is no "job protection". A business faces these same challenges regardless of whether it's workforce is unionized or not.

This fact doesn't change, unfortunately. Making more money, having better scheduling rules, a commuting clause (likely a bad one anyways), etc is definitely needed. But the risk of losing one's job due to economic forces remains. Now, if the lists could be merged, then you'd have something. Short of that, I can see the viewpoint of some of the reluctant captains.

I think it is as clear as day that Hulas is planning on utilizing G7 as the new money maker within TSH. TSA will likely be around for some time to come, but will stay very small (in order to specialize in the small 50 seat market that remains while the other regionals move toward larger equipment) or perhaps ultimately end up as a charter airline only. That is only my opinion, however.

There is job protection short of merging the lists. Of course the economy could get worse and all of TSH could be shut down, but that's not what I'm talking about. The job protection we are looking for is protection from losing our jobs to G7, not the economy. A list size ratio between the two companies would be an example, as would merging the lists. We'll see how the negotiating committee decides is the best way to set that up.

Right. With all the clout they have they should be able to force through any plan they want (dripping with sarcasm).

I'm not going to explain AGAIN how a strike provides some leverage because I'm sure it'll go over your head once again
