Wanna raise morale, you can start by getting rid of a politician and hire in a leader who is looking out for the best interests of his/her pilot group.

The pilots of Colgan Air deserve ALOT better.

You'd be smart to stop posting in this thread. Unless you work for Colgan you honestly have no clue what he's done to improve things already at our company.

Well raising the morale for me is easy to understand and hard to impliment. Give us a raise and I will be happier. Just like "Spaceballs 2, the search for more money"

I've spent over 5 years of my career at Colgan and still have a lot of close lifelong friends there, so don't preach and lecture to me about not having a clue about things at Colgan.

Just because you finished IOE and think you know a thing or two about this entire industry and Colgan that doesn't make it so.

Truth be told I was there for the first big Union drive and I can confidently say that Seggy was the reason the whole initial Union drive failed. Every pilot i talked to that spent more than a few minutes talking with him felt that they would not want someone like him representing them. I was on the first organizing committee when the other ALPA reps asked Seggy to excuse himself from one of our meetings because of the uniformed, uneducated comments that he was constantly making. The amount of Damage Control we needed to take for this guy was unbelievable and we were not even organized yet, it was an embarrassment to have be associated with him on a professional level in front of the other ALPA reps.

Drink the ALPA Kool Aid boys, but if you truly wanna raise morale and get a decent contract, QOL, and PWA then dump Seggy and find yourselves a better leader.

It's easy when you win by default I guess.

THiS is exactly why I love this country! You have the right to say anything you want, and I have the right to COMPLETELY IGNORE YOU.

God Bless America!

I'd trust the opinion of a pilot currently at Colgan with 6 months on the job moreso than someone who used to work here sometime ago. Things have been rapidly changing here ever since Pinnacle purchased the company.

What have you done lately to improve the quality of this profession? Posting on a message board is not exactly putting your neck on the line.

Of course moral is LOW....

I dont work at Colgan, Thank GOD!!

But from what I know, its hard to imagine moral not to be low in that forsaken place.

I mean lets call a spade a spade fellows. With the introduction of ALPA which you guys are sooo proud of, crappy contract, low pay, even lower QOL, landing gear falling off the planes faster then a drunk grandmother on a merry go around, not knowing which company you actually work for (Colgen, Pinnacle, or Continental), and a fat self-serving slave driving politician's son with more nose hair then I got hair in some places as a boss, and the flights to buffalo, moral isn't the lowest thing in the house. Life expectancy is!!

Last I checked the previous union drive failed by 4 votes. I find it hard to believe ONE single person is the reasoning behind that, but maybe that's just me looking at the glass half-full

Haha, I don't like what you're saying on this thread, but that was funny.

First: Who or what is Colgen???

Second, who in god's name said we were so proud of anything we have here at Colgan? I hate to say it but the vast majority of us are here because of low time when we started, quick upgrade time (which is now out the window and some are just up the creek), living at home (outstation basing), and working with a good pilot group (95% anyway). I don't think there's a soul here who likes our contract (oh wait, we don't have one), enjoys our pay (didn't know we got paid anyway), and ridiculously awesome QOL. Yeah, we've all seen the video of the wheel falling off the plane on landing, and we all know about our boss's nose hair.

Other than that though, great points!

I'll give you that point, it's easy to rationalize off many different angles on why we lost those four votes. The point being, after flying and talking with different First Officers and other Captains, I would hear more and more voters against the ALPA drive use Mr. Seggy's name, specifically, as their reasoning.
The most common rationale from these individuals was that they did not want someone like HIM representing them.

Pretty soon I ran out of fingers and put two and two together, maybe if Seggy wasn't out there representing our cause we would have those 10+ votes and got it through the first time while being one year closer to a contract.

To think that an individual like him is now the MEC Chair at Colgan makes me glad that I am no longer there and sad for my friends who are still there. It's easy to win by default I guess.

I said it before and I'll say it again the pilots of Colgan Air deserve ALOT better. If the Pilots at Colgan want an industry-leading contract the first step would be to find some new leadership.
