They had a reputation of not looking too hard at applicant logbooks and records not too long ago too.

How nice! Oh you must not be part of the 'big happy family' anymore. Didn't you remember we're a family around here?

They can shove their their family and just treat us like valuable employees. For starters, they could ensure we are compensated like the professionals we are and start to improve the work rules w/out having Congress mandate the improvements. But I'm not holding my breath on that one. ***thinks to self---might actually not be a bad idea....could get an extra day off for passing out****

Why should THEY ensure that you are "compensated like professionals"? You guys prostitute yourselves outs as cheap as they can get it, why should they pay you a penny more or care one bit? You price yourselves! THEY DONT OWE YOU ANYTHING!!! ITS BUSINESS NOT CHARITY!!

You want more? Then dont take any less! I never understand how pilots can be so uneducated and/or romantic when it comes to simple business practices!

You want better? DEMAND IT AND DONT TAKE LESS!!!

and once again incase you didn't understand... ITS NOT CHARITY!!!!!!!!

You wouldn't pay your cashier at your local store a penny more then she asked for would you?? How about the IRS? How about ANYONE? So why are YOU, Mr. Pilot, an exception to the rule? Because you're so hard working or "educated"? So is your doctor, go make his mortgage why dont you!!

And I DON'T understand how people can graduate high school and still not know how to use the " ' " properly. Or know the difference between "than" and "then." Or "its" and "it's."

Maybe it was late when you typed that. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

But you sling a lot of rocks. Out of curiosity, just which airline met your moral standards, and enjoys the privilege of your employ?

I hope you're kidding with the grammar dude!! You are right... I dont give a damn about my grammar and nor should you!!

As far as where I work, its irrelative, just as where you work is. But since you asked, I dont get paid based on seniority in my airline. Maybe that will give you a hint.

I dont sling a lot or rocks... I call it the way I see it. Its time people stopped being so damn prude and diplomatic and start taking some responsibility for why this "career" has gone down the tube in the U.S..

No one is responsible for feeding you and your family but you. Start acting like it. The "management's" job is to run an airline and pay YOU as little as possible! Your job is to increase your profitability while decreasing your workload. So far "they" prove to be better at their job they you.

You being the preverbal pilot.

Feel free to correct my grammar as you see fit.

I'm sorry for getting excited about a great airplane, only to get placed on another great airplane.

And as for Colgan flying more Q400s with first class...I feel the same about it as I did before I got in the industry. Growth for regionals comes at the mainline expense, in this case pilot furloughs. You guys furloughed because Colgan went to EWR, we furloughed because you can run IAH-YYZ CHEAPER!!

So...you just continue to fly my routes for $23-40/hr

How you feel right now about Colgan, is how I felt about ExpressJet when I went to the unemployment office. Thank-you, newarkblows for raising the bar. The quicker ExpressJet stops working for slave wages, the quicker you'll be sitting to my right.
see you still dont get it. You were assigned the 757 before you entered training and came on here bragging about how you are going from a saab to the "757". Everyone laughed at you then because you were so clueless that you actually believed you were as good as sitting in the right seat of that airplane. CAL changed almost every single class of new hires to a different aircraft within the first week of training during the last hiring boom. EVERYONE seemed to know that except mr know-it-all. You coming on here bragging about how great colgan was and how it was the perfect stepping stone to your "757" did nothing but lead more uninformed people to the opinion of "colgan is a good option."

You are as clueless now as you were then. XJT was doing a lot more flying for CAL before you were even at the airlines(colgan or CAL). We are a fraction of ourselves and regional capacity at CAL has shrunk more than mainline. SO were you expecting that as soon as you got hired at CAL all regionals would go away? That Colgan would stop undercutting other airlines and hurting the QOL and Pay in this profession?

You fueled your own demise. Your FAST TRACK TO THE MAJORS mentality lead you to the unemployment line. You cant support the undercutting one second and then as soon as you get to where you think you are safe do a complete 180 and frown upon what you just did. It is called being ACCOUNTABLE for your actions. Mr High and Mighty Mainline pilot do you think we owe you something because you took the easy way and got lucky?
