Pinnacle has reached a TA!
About time!
|
By the sounds of things it doesn't seem too good... time will tell.
|
It is a start...
|
About time is correct. Pilots will get to see it after the union reps all vote on it in two weeks.
|
Curious what the five year fight for industry average will produce. I can't imagine the negotiating committee would accept and send to the pilot group a lousy deal because they will be met with pitchforks. But I also can't imagine Mr. T giving away an industry average deal either.

It's give and take. Some parts are expected to lead the industry, some will be par. The union received lots of input from the pilot group. I can't imagine they would go through so much work just to go back to the drawing board. |

Feeling good yet?
I hope the pilot group feels good about this news. We waited a LONG time, and never gave up.
Now how much is that signing bonus! |

Out of curiosity, what were the parts that the pilot group wanted "industry leading"? Would you want superior pay over work rules or vice versa. If anything, I would hope Scope is number 1. Without an iron clad Scope clause, you could make $300/hour and it wouldn't matter. The senior guys at 9E may be all about the retirement but the bottom half maybe wanting more money to take home and feed the family. Since this is the first regional contract to come up in quite some time, I'm curious what the demographics are in the group.
Scope with a side of scope for one. Iron-clad indeed. With Colgan's progression nipping at our heels, it was a big issue for some time. I'd expect this won't be one of the issues if there is anything that will stop this TA. We don't expect compensation to 'lead', but rather be on par (especially when in comes to 200 FOs, who were subpar by a lot). The rest will come out shortly. |

The devil is in (some) of the details.

A little off topic but Im sure there is a lot of Pinnacle traffic here to answer my question. Delta is constantly up our butts over at ASA to save money and one of the ways we do so is by single engine taxiing and keeping the APU usage to a minimum. This method has had a large impact on our fuel savings. In no way am I being sarcastic but I can't help to notice that just about every Pinnacle 900 in ATL seems to taxi on both engines and sits at the gate plugged in with power and air with the APU running. I could care less, but I was just curious if you guys have a program similar and are just trying to stick it to the man or this isn't something that is enforced at Pinnacle.
Kind of goes along with showing your dissappointment with managements lack of cooperation. Just figured I would ask. |
Timing and pressure leaves me to feel that there was a caving in by the company.

I used to think until an hour ago that single engine taxiing and not having the apu running was dangerous. :p

I think they saw the CXX rates for this weekend and how our performance has been the last few months....... |
Just curious....does anyone know what the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year FO pay rates will be?
|
My day has been made!!! I had nearly lost all hope....
|
I hope this raises the bar, for all of us...

What will Pinchanickel offer that is an industry leader????....Maybe you guys will now be able to afford a slice of pizza instead of a bag of potato chips. Don't settle for less than you deserve....heaven knows that the next negotiation session will also take five years as well providing those CR2's don't fall apart or out of the sky..... Hope they didn't wear you down like a lathe to a baseball bat. |

Maybe that ndb lady knows what she is doing after all.

Where's the deets?
|
Vote no. Never take the first offer.
|
Everyone should mentally prepare themselves because this contract will not be industry leading and will not compare to the ASA contract. 75% DH pay, no rigs, no min-day-pay. Scheduling section not as good as Mesa. Chances are it will still get voted in, the senior CA's don't want any risk to their current QOL and the FO's just want to make more than $24.39 per hour, and rather not wait a year for everything to get renegotiated.
|
Congrats, hopefully it is worth your serious consideration.
If you guys pull off some good stuff in this climate, I'll be impressed. After having worked at one of the worst and one of the best regionals, I would comment that the importance of ENFORCEABLE workrules cannot be overemphasized. A dollar or two an hour or a few percentage points on the payscale are important but will really only buy a case of beer. QOL enhancements will have a tremendous impact on your outlook and enjoyment of life. And they may not cost the company much...they are probably not very efficient now because they can get away with it. |

Tell us all the details so we can tell you how to vote...
Kidding, kidding. This TA may be far below what the Pinnacle pilots were expecting. That is ok. Remember, the MEC may have deliberately put junk up for a vote. They are obligated to bargain in good faith, and the NMB seemed to think that it was possible to reach a TA. Your MEC may be hoping you vote this TA down. That way, in the eyes of the NMB, the Union has negotiated in good faith and sent a TA for vote. IF the pilot group flatly refuses to accept the terms of the TA, then it sends an extremely strong signal to the NMB that the pilots will not agree to company demands, and that the MEC has been acting as true representatives of the pilots, not as a group of combative, unrealistic union thugs. THIS will show the NMB that indeed no agreement can be reached without serious concessions from the company, and that SELF HELP may be an inescapable outcome. It is hard to get to SELF HELP without the MEC demonstrating that they are willing to compromise. This TA may be that good faith gesture the MEc needs to see. If it is a turd, vote it down. SELF HELP is possible. If it is truly a deserved contract, then by all means go for it. |
Good luck guys.
|
I'm just happy we have a TA. That being said, if it even reaches the pilot group, I will read it in full multiple times and make the best decision I can. I'm not in either the "vote no, no matter what" or the "vote yes, no matter what" groups. I'd like to think both of those groups are relatively small, not to mention selfish, and/or under-informed.

Now how much is that signing bonus! How about demanding full retro pay from the amendable date? |

Ok seriously people, let us get excited for a day. If we wanted to be bankrupt in 2 weeks we would ask for a full retro pay. You have to realize who we are dealing with here. We are not going to get everything that we want but we are going to make major gains and that in turn is going to help out everyone in their contract negotiations. I have heard that our scope is rock solid and that makes me happier than anything if true.
To me, "rock solid" scope would mean that those Q-400's that were paid for with my hard work when I was there (and now yours) would come back to the PCL pilots. My JMs, extensions, poor pay, and deliberate payroll "errors" and DW's interpretations made the money that bought them. You should fly them. That's "rock solid" scope. |
