AWAC still hasn't said anything about what's happening with our 50 seaters in LGA, not sure if anybody even knows at this point. I hope airways uses more of the airbus on the flights to philly after the pull out. If I still have a job, it will make for an easier commute.

I think I missed something along the way ... what's with the 50 seat or less planes being pulled out of LGA?? This is the first I've heard about such a thing

All the express routes are being cut out of LGA. Except for PHL, ILM and PIT n maybe a couple of CLT flights.

No more Dash 8's or saabs out of LGA in the future... you may keep them, but they will not be flying out of LGA.
Maybe out of IAH, but the Northeast is going to see a major USA reduction.

The port authority which runs lga made it clear a couple of years ago they wanted anything below 50 seats out of lga. They feel this will reduce congestion in the ny airspace.

The announcement on the hub saidthat among other cities they are cancelling service to cho, ith, mht, mvy, hya, and ack. So no more 9L in lga

Ah the Port Authority, One of the 10,000 reasons I am glad I don't live in New York.

In my opinion 9L will be done in LGA at the beginning of next year. I believe we only have around 4 to 6 Saabs flying in there anyway (someone correct me if I’m wrong). As for 9L not flying for US Airways anymore, I really doubt that. We have EAS routes that go to BOS so either they will continue to operate those as US Airways express, or, they will continue to operate that independently. I'm sure that the extra Saabs from the LGA closure will find a home in IAD, IAH, or BOS flying. That is just my educated guess.

Aviation Week says that "with this deal, US Airways effectively terminates its regional presence at LaGuardia, although it is adamant that mainline and Shuttle services will remain untouched.

Hopefully 9L's Saabs will move down to do more DCA out and backs.
