Displaying the US flag as a tie
Lately I’ve noticed a certain pilot group flying for UAL out of STL and ORD wearing ties that represent the US Flag. Not only does it look tacky, it’s a violation of US Code of Flag Etiquette: ‘The flag should never be used as wearing apparel”.
Am I the only one that finds this disrespectful? |

Is it one of those ALPA ties?

Under the code of ethic, the interpretation is that the "actual" flag may not be worn as a piece of clothing. Henceyou can't tie it on and wear it as a cape or cut holes in it and wear it as a shirt.
Ties, Tie tacs are acceptable as long as it isa flag design and not the actual flag. Hope that helps. Whiskey |
You can't tell me that this is all you can complain about.

You're gonna have to be indignant about a good number of SWA, and Chautauqua, and ________________- (fill in airline here) pilots if you're concerned about that...

I don't find it disrespectful but I do think it's tacky.
