I chose to work here so I don't have a right to argue? Get over yourself... I am happy that we will be starting the negotiation process, I am volunteering my time to our pilot group during the negotiations, I am angry with the current situation here, I am doing everything I can to better my profession and ensure that what I accomplish today will affect other in the future in a positive manner. Besides running your mouth on a forum what are you doing for your profession? Are you walking the picket line with Amerijet pilots? Your airline might have been the first one to offer you a job, it might have the best payrates in the industry, it may have a great contract.... great if that works for you. Colgan works for me for a multitude of reasons... it fits my needs for the time being. I won't disagree that there isn't room for vast improvement but thats why I am involved with the union.

You probably could have had a much bigger impact on the industry by bypassing one of the lowest paid airlines in the industry and went to a better one.

I'm glad you chimed in with your vast 25 months of experience. For the record, Pinnacle pay and ASA pay are pretty darn close (and unless I am mistaken, the Pinnacle contract is older). Besides, aren't you folks getting bought by Mesa? http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/re...-mesa-asa.html |

If you are married. You can guarantee at least 12 nights a month you won't be getting any action at home. Enjoy those lonely nights at the Radisson with your laptop and hand lotion. Meanwhile, your buddy the computer programmer is pulling down as much as the almighty regional captain and he get to get with momma any time he wants. On a side note. Is that crappy salary you will make worth the average of 144 nights you won't be able to tuck your children in bed? I hope that $31 per hour at CAL (if you make it that far) is worth missing out on every holiday your friends and family will be celebrating without you while you sit ARC in Newark. This jet jockey is on his way out. I won't be looking for a cubicle job either. Cubicle jobs keep getting referenced here. There is such a thing called entrepreneurs ya know. There is truly unlimited income potential in running your own business. End Quote So CAL isnt good enough for you. How is your own business going? |

A TA does not a contract make (if you don't understand how things work)! The pilots of Pinnacle will decide their fate now and until they do maybe you should cut them slack as they work to raise it to the next level. They may just stand together and tell their MEC we aren't taking this contract. The same goes for Colgan. They are starting the process. They realize the terrible working conditions and wages they have been working under for years. That's why they are trying to improve conditions and voted in ALPA. So give it a rest already. It's not like your contract put you guys at the top of the heap either. |
geez, what's with all the negativity? would you guys rather that colgan had never unionized and had never tried to get a contract? which scenario is better?
and dont say you're rather colgan didnt exist because that's not reality.

mregan, you guys have a good contract but your airline has been unionized for a lot longer than we have... it's that much time you (and when i say "you" i mean all the guys that came before you) had to work on getting better work rules. plus it wasnt until last year that you had a pay raise - which means even you accepted a regional fo position getting paid $19/hr. |

thats just terrific., both of your companies stink and neither of you will help the industry, keep up the good work......you two should just become one company and be called Nurse Sharks Express, "bottom feeding from one place to the next" .
I personally could care less what anyone thinks of Colgan and our pilots. And for the Colgan pilots on this site, don't defend yourself or the reason you came to Colgan to anyone. You do not have to defend your decisions in life to a 24 year old regional F/O who thinks they know what is best for everyone. |
