S5 pullinng out of Hawaii

I thought I'd heard somewhere that the E170's were doing well out there?
I guess that's not the case.
Go Hawaiian! Get your A332's and A350's, replace your 717's down the road, and keep up your good services. Hopefully Hawaiian will continue to lead the way over there.

One other thing to consider...
RAH may not be doing that poorly with the E170 in Hawaii, but they feel that those 3 planes could be BETTER utilized in support of the Midwest and/or Frontier operations. Mokulele could offer profit potential, but I think focusing on a potential 70-100 aircraft operation is far more pressing for RAH management. Since no mention has been made of ending Mokulele operations entirely, I assume some other airframe will be sent out to the islands. I would imagine 145's would be drafted, of only for the fact that RAH can easily come up with 3 or 4 145's that their mainline partners do not want. Q400's would make the most sense, but that would mean RAH would commit to keeping that fleet type, which would imply an overall increase in Q400 fleet size, and an announcement of new Q400 orders.
