Well its been 7 days since this letter was sent out and nothing since then. Seems like theres alot of fiddling while Rome burns. Happy Veterans Day in the mean time.

Did they give a timeline to respond? Perhaps the plan was to send the notices out super early to weed people out who weren't willing to accept a recall blindly so that when material growth does occur in a few years, their costs will be lower by having to hire again at first year pay. Also a smaller TSA list does clean things up a bit between TSA/GoJet shenanigans that might occur in the future. Its easier to deal with 200+ pilots than nearly 400.
I'm just sayin.... |

How does an airline send out a recall notice and then not tell you what it is for? Like you should just give up whatever you are doing for Trans States. Unreal.

It's a voluntary recall. I like conspiracy theories but this doesn't look like one. Although mandatory would be better because it would mean the above or they really do have something for sure.

All recalls are voluntary until you reach the end of your deferral rights per the CBA. And if you defer, you are passed until the last guy is reached, then another swipe comes down the list and you either accept or deny. Am I correct?

FWIW, one of the guys that was in STL at the training center caught wind that the United flying is contingent on how many people accept the recall and come back to TSA. Sounds about right when you consider all of the high IQ's that handle this type of stuff. But how many people would they honestly expect to come back with out any assurance or even information about the flying that we may or may not be getting? Anyway, that is the latest gossip that I heard, and it is just that at this point, gossip. So no one get mad at me, I never said it was gospel.
Anyone else hear anything. I think it is sad we are relying on message boards and facebook to learn more about our future than hearing anything from the company or ALPA. |
