You might talk to the MEC at TSA and see if there's anyway to get back on the list if even at the bottom. I've heard rumors of such things happening. Good luck

Yes at Mesaba. It seems like with a court challenge however, I might end up burning bridges at Mesaba to get on the bottom of the TSA list. I don't know if I'd like that either, but thank you.

Maybe I'll just wait for a recall at Mesaba while trying to do something lucrative like work at Starbucks. ;)

That's how i feel.

I don't think ill be taking the recall.

Because the s*x was good. :D

I think this is what everyone's thinking right now. To go back to an abusive relationship or not.

That pretty much sums up this ENTIRE career.

Last spring I was about 5 from the bottom of the list at TSA after the last of the furloughs. At that same time I was hired by Compass. My rational to leave TSA for Compass was almost as simple as brucer's post. TSA is so unstable (even more so than other regionals) that before I was hired CPS I was about to quit without anything else lined up for work (many waterski's had that same feeling, including a surprising number of capts.).

For me the choice to leave was simple. After spending 3 years at TSA, did I really want to spend any more time under their employment after how poorly they've treated their employee's and ran their business? Was leaving the best decision even if it meant the possibility of loosing a future upgrade? Even when they start upgrading my former classmates and I'm still just a FO at CPS I will be happy with the decision I made leaving that place.

I really do wish the best to all the great crews I worked with and hope my friends do upgrade and find success there.

Jaded,

I know getting furloughed sucks but if all I can offer is one piece of friendly advice; do NOT give up an XJ number for TSA.

While any current job may look attractive for now, these two opportunities may be apples to oranges in the not to distant future.

There should be no reason to have to give up a seniority number anywhere to go somewhere else. My advice is fight to get your number back at TSA and don't give up your number at XJ. TSA doesn't require you to give up seniority at XJ if you accept a recall as far as I know. I'd give somebody at the TSA MEC a call about getting back on the list there due to forfeiting seniority under duress. I've heard from a friend that ExpressJet wouldn't allow people to surrender their numbers there. That's how it should be.

Well it looks like I will be moving from one craphole job to another. At least I can do what I like doing again even though it is a awful place. Can't wait to take a dump on TSA when I get a class date for ATC school.

It's safe to say that this furloughed waterskiier will be giving the big thanks but no thanks for the return. After getting a 135 cargo gig where I make the same amount flying a Piper Chieftain then I do flying a 50 seat ERJ for cheap Hulas, moving from Missouri to Oregon, and being home every night and have EVERY WEEKEND off.........yea, I'll tell them my reason for not coming back.

For those of you that do decide to return I am very happy for you. I wish you the best of luck. I do miss the the ERJ from time to time.
