I dropped days and stayed home as much as I could because rsv was brutal and still ended up with over 600 hours of flight time total with the company. So if any FO's are under 1000 it can't be by much.

How were you hired the 28th??? I was hired April 15, 2008, went to the jet orientation but they canceled the FO training a week before...I never made it to training, I'm guessing you went right to dallas instead of going to the orientation.

just sittin in the hiring pool...if it's still around

No, I had to go to the orientation as well. They sent me to Pan Am in Pheonix. However the three weeks I went there were before April 28th. Your hire date is actually the date you enter training at Eagle. You probably don't have access to it, but we can log in and look at the seniority list that lists everyones' names and hire dates. In fact, there was even another class after I entered training, so the last class date, or date of hire if you will, was actually May 12 of 08. If you look at the letter you got from Eagle for the transition course, it explains how your hiring is conditional upon finishing the transition training. This is also why you aren't actually getting paid while going through the jet transition training. Hopefully we'll see you around though, It wasn't fun being stuck at the bottom for a whole year!!

We sent folks through a jet transition course? Did that cost you guys any money?

Well, Eagle paid $10K to send me to the course. They cancelled my class, and 8 months later, I got a 1099 in the mail to pay taxes on the 10 grand.

Yeah, eagle paid for the jet transition course, but you have to pay the taxes on it. The company used it for a tax write off evidently. We didn't get paid while we are in the course, but our hotel and travel to/from was covered. That just goes to show you how much they were scrambling to hire pilots just a little over a year and a half ago.

Wow....I don't know what to say.

Looks like MIA just went pretty senior. I thought American was growing Miami, and it's not like the reserve list is a mile long. ATR instructors are returning to the line- greener pastures on the jet folks, see you in ORD.

In addition to the lower time guys getting the jet course, they were also sending a few guys near 1000TT that were "shaky" in the Tech or Sim parts...I was hired @ 550TT and was scheduled for the transition course before being put in the pool...

Oh. Was the xsition course worth the time spent? To me, flying a jet is easier than any piston. And to have to pay the tax
