Hey guys. I dont work for Colgan but I do work for another regional and Im a Flight Attendant. Im looking out for you guys because I see it everyday with our pilots as well as the no flight restrictions they have put upon us flight attendants. I worked a 17 1/2 hour duty day 2 weeks ago and only got paid for 8 credit hours. I can tell you that USA Today probably already knows about this since Angels do have wings and can spread the word pretty fast. Pretty sure the press can get the info they need if they want to write an article on it. Happy New Years! Fly Safe.

and apparently people who posted on this board can't read well because there is this note "*Mitigating circumstances that prevent a rest period from being fully utilized will be considered when determining whether a fatigue call is acceptable." in case you do get a bad nights sleep or for whatever reason are fatigued.

And you think guys don't abuse sick policy already. All this will do is scare some poor dope captain whose baby keeps him up all night to go fly and compromise safety. Coming near the aniversary of 3407 tells me colgan has not learned a thing. BTW, what is Alpa's position on this?

Drums4life 12-31-2009 08:42 PM

I guess Colgan would rather have another plane of theirs in the ground than have one of their pilots call in fatigued.

What if people are taking advantage of of the fatigue policy? Should we give them the benefit of the doubt? Who is John Galt?

PCL_128 12-31-2009 09:09 PM

I would like to take this time to thank Colgan management for their incredibly well-timed stupidity. This policy will do wonders for us convincing Congress that new laws are indeed required to stop the negligent bullies in airline management from killing more innocent people with their incessant greed.

Foxcow 12-31-2009 09:15 PM

Jeez that is ridiculous. If you are fatigued, you are fatigued.

LargeMarge 12-31-2009 09:53 PM

I am fatigued after 4 days off

I don't know about others out there, but I'd like to think I learned a lot in the 2 years I flew the line. I will not go back to another bottom feeder, period! I would much rather just make good money doing something else and fly on the side... The Heck with this crud, these companies can kiss my you know what!

There are those of us who are trying to make positive changes to this place. Until we can turn this place around, I understand and agree with you.

That's when you let the MANAGERS take each case on a "case by case" investigation. If somebody keeps calling in fatigue when they get to Miami.....then , hmmmmm...sounds like this is a problem. A couple fatigue calls throughout the year should NEVER be an issue.

Common guys, this is the regionals were talking about! Guys have 6-7 flights a day at times!! Give 'em a break!

Terrible, absolutely terrible.

AHEM AHEM AHEM ----- HERE YE HERE YE ------What is ALPA's Judgement on this issue?

IS ALPA going to just sit on the sidelines and take 2% of our pay????

ALPA!! ALPA!!??? Anybody seen ALPA???

PCL_128 01-01-2010 05:46 AM

Perhaps you've missed it, but ALPA has been working nonstop on fatigue on Capital Hill this year.
