Care to identify yourself or is this just flame? I agree it should not be abused but the new policy was not the right way to go about correcting that.

Colgan made the front page of the Buffalo News today.

When defending the policy, the vice president of safety wrote "...when given an opportunity to demonstrate a lack of professionalism and maturity, a disappointing number of our crew members will do so."

That is just what the passengers want to hear. Not only are Colgans pilots flying fatigued, they are also immature and unprofessional.

I can't believe they can get people to fly on their airplanes anymore.

Wow, that's classic. Yet the line for interviews will be out the door.

Does no one at Colgan management do a sanity check before they act/speak? Really a future business study on airline management failure to understand public affairs.

Nobody has ever accused airline management of being chock-full of "business sense"...

So to take care of maybe a handful of people who abuse the policy they are going to punish the entire pilot group and jeopardize safety?

That's how the airline bidness has ALWAYS worked - reduce everything to the lowest common denominator...

Maybe we can team up and offer Pinnacle a 'business consultant' proposition: Hire us to review basic safety public affairs press releases for all their business interests. <g> Am sure some attorneys have already expensed in their settlement more than we would charge. Zing...

One would have to think that SOMEBODY with an ATP and a type rating or three in Pinnacle Flight Operations would have enough pull, or lacking pull, basic freaking input to prevent stu-uuuuuuu-pid statements like the one published in the Buffalo Times from getting out...:confused:
