You seem like an independent type that values money and yourself, that's not what lower tier regional airlines in general want. They want a warm body. We all would like to admire you, because by waiting for what fits you, you will be happier in the long run.
Exactly....maybe if Colgan were to open up another airline to get around the collective bargaining process you would suggest that new "alter ego" airline to prospective new hires.

I find it amazingly ironic that you are telling a pilot to wait and hold out for an airline with strong work rules and a CBA when all the while you work for an airline who was formed on the exact opposite principles to doublecross an airline who wanted them and would fight for them.

By not going to Colgan you are making a difference and helping bring change one step closer.

AirWillie went to GoJets if that sheds any light on his character.

You should take a page out of stis202's book and quit from GoJets.

You shouldn't even care. You shouldn't even be thinking of going there. Get a real job if your so worried about losing your number at your other airline. It sounds like you think you'll be recalled, which should also tell you not to go to Colgan.

Do the Colgan pilots a favor and don't go there so they have a better chance at getting a decent contract.
Sir,

With all due respect I know your trying to pass on knowledge however, why are you always the negative one on every forum. I thought for a moment maybe you just had an affinity for Colgan however, you're on Multiple threads being Debbie Downer. Relax be uplifting for once(bashing other regionals is not uplifting) and promote your own Airline and how great it is to work at XYZ carrier. Lifes to short bro your causing me to grow grey hairs when I only come on here for entertainment.

Happy Landings

He clearly has an agenda. Some people get off on sitting in front of their computer causing trouble and acting like a child. I placed him on the "ignore list" because he has zero credibility as far as I am concerned. I suggest you do the same with him and go on with your life, as you said "Lifes to short."

I'm not bashing regionals, I'm telling pilots to stay away from them so YOU have a easier time getting a decent contract.

I'm amazed that you and others (Juice) get so upset when people tell the truth about Colgan and its working conditions that you think it is a bash on yourself. I'm trying to HELP YOU.

No Juice, you clearly don't know when someone is trying to help YOU. You're the only one with no credibility, by not telling it how it is and telling pilots to go to Colgan.

Again, why are you promoting your place? You should be speaking against it. That fact that you don't see that, by telling people to stay away from Colgan will help you get higher pay and better work rules, amazes me and I'm sure countless others.

The best way for the Colgan pilots to get a decent contract is to tell everyone interested in going there to stay FAR FAR away.
I don't think anyone is defending Colgan's labor practices.

I understand now why your are so vocal.

"I hear you, I was one of those pilots too. I really wish more pilots would have been vocal about this issue though when I was searching I was still content to hold out for something good though and didn't go early to a lower paid regional and waited over a year to get on with someone decent."

You chose to work at a "lower paid regional." Nobody TOLD you not to go to there (or maybe you didn't listen). Maybe you put too much stock in the promises made during the interview, or maybe you got Shiny-I-Just-Don't-Want-to-Instruct-Anymore-Syndrome. I don't know, and frankly I don't care.

The payscales are posted, and several of us have answered specific questions and cited examples of the work rules. We all know Colgan will get plenty of applicants; hopefully, those hired will have made an informed choice.

I think you may have misread the post you linked to. It appears winglet did not go to a lower-paid regional, but rather held out for a better one.

Some say don't go to Colgan and they will get a better contract. Hold out for a better regional. Why not say, "don't go to a regional with 70+ seat jets, they are taking away mainline jobs."?

Truth be told Colgan is probably at the bottom of any airline that is replacing mainline flights. If people really wanted this industry to get better and pay better, stay away from any RJ that has more than 50 seats in it.

Hypocrites

So you think going to a company that pays their Saab captains $1200 per paycheck (I laughed) is going to make the industry better?

I do not know where $1200 is coming from, I make more than that as an FO.

$45 for the most junior non-street Saab Captain X 75 hour min = $3375 or $40,500 a year. This is with not working a penny over minimum and never getting per diem for any overnight trip. I was talking to my friend who is based in IAH and an early 2007 hire made $50,000 last year.

Is this great money...NO WAY, it is not even good money, take it for what it is worth
