Word to the wise...

New hire attrition is unusually high for SKW right now. If you are a poolie and haven't flown much recently, better get some currency, at least in a sim, before class.

If you don't have turbine or 121 experience, be prepared to get your full game on. Learn flows cold in ground school...if you have to learn them in the sim, you are painting a big red target on your back.

If your failure rate is that high the problem lies with your training dept.

Does anyone have any idea which cities the pilot domiciles will be in? The website still shows Santa Barbara, but I know that it's getting closed down. Are any other domiciles going away, and are there going to be new ones?

The problem appears to be poolies who have not been employed in aviation for several years. No airline training program is setup for that

I don't think its any higher than any other regional. Isn't it usually about 10% for most new hires? I think each of the last few new hire classes have lost about 2 per class of 20.

That's unusually high at SKW. It used to be more like 2%, not 10%.

The training department is just fine. No matter how well the training department is, not everyone can adapt to the increased learning pace of the 121 training environment.

You'd think they'd let employees know these important things well in advance... yet you know as much as we do(best to keep important quality of life issues a big secret from the employees until the last possible minute)!!
